Target Audience
Clinical Preceptors of Advanced Practice Providers (APP) students (physicians, surgeons, physician associates/physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and nurse anesthetists)

Program Goals
The PreCEPT program is designed to give preceptors the confidence and tools needed to provide quality precepting/clinical experiences for students.  This program will provide preceptors with best practices, burnout prevention, resources, a supportive community, networking opportunities, and tools for overcoming common barriers to precepting.

Program Components
Asynchronous presentation modules and additional learning materials. Assessments of knowledge (multiple choice questions)

Program Learning Outcomes

  • Identify best practices in mentoring, teaching strategies, diversity, and competency based education to better serve clinical APP students.
  • Utilize various precepting tools that aid in structuring rotations, improving time management, and preventing preceptor burnout.
  • Connect with resources for continuing professional development in precepting
  • Network with other Preceptors and establish communities for resource sharing and best practices
  • Build confidence and feel equipped to provide quality precepting/clinical experiences
